What's Included

Itinerary

We make every itinerary different; usually taking in the main historical and religious sites as well as some off-the-beaten-track places (quaint alleyways, hidden courtyards, fantastic views, lesser-known churches/synagogues etc). Ultimately though the tour is 100% customisable to your needs and interests. Below are some of our must-see places.

  • The Temple Mount for Jews is considered the holiest place for Jews; this is the place traditionally where the Temple was. Although we do not see so many remains of the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount.
  • Al Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest place for Muslims. Muslims believe this to be the place where Mohammed went on his ‘Night Journey’ and came down with the gift or prayer.
  • The Golden Dome or Mosque of Omar is a ceremonial building on the Al Aqsa Compound.
  • Please note entrance to buildings is only allowed to Muslims.
  • The Iconic western wall is where Jews throughout the ages have come to pray. It is part of the Supporting Wall of the Temple. At all times of the day you will see Jews coming to pray here and put notes into the wall.
  • Mount Zion is a special place and has parts of all 3 religions. Including the Tomb of King David, Room of the Last Supper and even a Holocaust memorial. The Dormition Abbey of Mary is also a well known landmark and incredible building.
  • This is the traditional route that Jesus took from his arrest to his death.
  • The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the most holy and special sites in Christianity. Built in the time of the Emperor Constantine and Located in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, the church is home to two of the holiest sites in Christianity – the site where Jesus was crucified, known as Calvary, and the tomb where Jesus was buried and then resurrected. Today, the tomb is enclosed by a shrine called the Aedicula. The final four Stations of the Cross, or Via Dolorosa, are also located inside the church.
  • An Armenian Church from the 12th Century;
  • we will hopefully experience part of their prayer services.

Client Testimonials

"I'd highly recommend Emmanuel to anyone who wants a customized tour of the Old City. Everything was new to me, but he also managed to find things that my cousin, the repeat visitor, had never known before."

Jason
"Boutique tour indeed! Jun 2023 • Solo I feel like I just made a lifelong friend in Emmanuel. Eight hours walking the streets of Jerusalem, not only stopping at all of the expected sites, but the hidden corners that will create unique life long memories. He’ll introduce you to specific shopkeepers in his inner circle that are more interested in getting to know you than to try to sell you some trinket. I can’t wait to return with my family to meet him and learn about the city through his eyes."

Todd M
"Our family of five (two adults, three kids 18,12 and 7) did a two day walking tour of the Old City and surrounding area with Emmanuel. The whole experience was outstanding."

Sarah
"Emmanuel is the best! May 2023 • Friends Such a fun tour. We started at the Mount of Olives and Emmanuel showed us so many diverse sites, be it political, Christian, Muslim, Jewish. Around every corner was something interesting. He knows ALOT and is really good at explaining things to people of all backgrounds whether they have no familiarity with the subject or have a PhD in it. Thank you so much!"

Alan T
"Emmanuel was knowledgeable, entertaining and kept the interest of such a diverse group. Jerusalem is a city with so much history and so many secrets and the right guide can be the difference between boredom and enlightenment."
